AFTER YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR APAP MACHINE - COMPLIANCE MONITORING
To obtain optimal benefit from your APAP machine you will need to use it whenever you are sleeping. The machine records data about your breathing and time of use every time you turn on the machine.
You will receive a series of calls from Sleep Pointe’s compliance center beginning 24 hours after you receive your machine. This is to check on how you are doing and get you comfortable with using the device. The first series of calls generally lasts anywhere from 7 to 14 days depending your comfort level with the machine and mask. After your initial calls you will receive monthly phone calls regarding your experience, any problems you may be having and how we can help you to continue using your APAP machine ever time you sleep.
Your APAP records your usage daily and is stored in the memory of the machine. The media on which the data is retrieved varies according to the manufacturer of machine. Most machines have a USB style device, some have a credit card style, and even others have an SD card style. Every 30 days for the first three months you must download the information from your machine.
You will receive additional media (USB, SD, or CC style) and pre-addressed and pre-stamped envelopes. Use the pre-stamped envelopes to ensure the Smart Cards arrive to the correct destination.
After 90 days you will need to take in your last card and your therapy device to the Doctors office to be downloaded by the nurse or doctor. Your first two cards you will have already mailed back to the nurse and you can collect them at this time.
After the 90 day check you will be monitored quarterly for the first year. Once you are comfortable with the machine and are in compliance, you will be monitored yearly going forward.
