Saving Your Company Dollars and Lives
Several recent studies have revealed that on-the-job performance is significantly higher when sleep apnea is properly diagnosed and treated. Schneider National Inc., a leading transportation and logistics company, initiated a comprehensive Obstructive Sleep Apnea testing and treatment program in 2006. As a result of this effort, Schneider reported a 73% reduction in the accident rate among their drivers treated for Sleep Disordered Breathing. In the same 2006 program, Schneider reported a 129% greater retention rate among treated drivers compared to their 2004 global retention rates. Additionally, drivers treated for Obstructive Sleep Apnea reported average monthly health care savings of between $500 and $700 per driver.
